Google Analytics Alternative GDPR: Why you can see more without cookies

26.11.2025
Web analysis should be easy: Who is there? Where does he come from? What is he reading? The reality of 2025 is different, there are numerous tools that advertise with stylish dashboards, low prices, big features or GDPR compliance. But many are still asking themselves the question, are these Google alternatives and am i safe there?

The starting position

  1. Visitor is coming.
  2. Huge cookie banner blocks the view.
  3. Visitor is annoyed, clicks “Reject Everything” or uses an ad blocker. In the worst case scenario, he leaves the page before he has even interacted with the banner.

The result in Google Analytics and co: zero.
For Google, this visitor does not exist, as there is a strict opt-in requirement in Germany. This means: When loading the page, the user must actively agree that he may be tracked. If he doesn't, you'll be blind. If your rejection rate is 40% or even 70%, you optimize your marketing based on half of the data and you don't even know it.

That is not “data-driven marketing.” That's guessing.

The search for the alternative

Many want a Google Analytics alternative that takes topics such as GDPR compliance, intuitive use and support seriously. Many end up with Matomo (formerly Piwik). Solid but complex. If you want to operate Matomo securely, you have to host, patch and maintain databases yourself. Suddenly you're a server admin, not a marketer anymore.

At bchic, we do things differently. More radical.

The motto: Plug and Play

While others are working on legally waterproof banners, we have decided: We do not use cookies at all and do not collect any data that can be assigned to an individual person (so-called fingerptinting).

The result:

  • No cookie banner Con: Your page loads instantly. Users can read instantly.
  • 100% data: We also record visitors that GA4 ignores.
  • Made in Germany: Server at Hetzner. No data in the USA. No Privacy Shield required.

Why “free” is expensive

A question that is often reached by us, but why pay for you when GA is free, but here is the crux of the matter. Many Consent Management Platforms (CMPs) are chargeable, including Usercentrics, which can be paid per call, which quickly goes into the money and then does not give you a complete picture.

But let's do the math:

The “corporate stack” (expensive & complex)

Tools such as amplitude or Mixpanel quickly cost hundreds of euros. There is also the consent manager.

  • Tool: €100 - 1,000 €/month
  • Banner (e.g. Usercentrics): approx. 50€/month
  • Conclusion: Expensive + technical effort + loss of data due to rejection.

The “free” Google stack

  • Google Analytics 4:0€
  • GTM: 0€
  • Banner (e.g. Cookiebot): 15€ - 50€/month (for business functions)
  • Setup effort: Extremely high. You need Google Tag Manager, must Data Layers build and the Consent Mode V2 wire.
  • Conclusion: You pay money monthly for a banner that annoys your users only to use a tool that then only shows you half of the data.

With bchic analytics

bchic does not need cookies and personal data. So you don't need a consent manager.

  • bchic Analytics: Fair price.
  • Cookie banners: 0€ (You don't have to).
  • Setup: Zero click, you simply select what you want to track and the script does the rest.
  • Conclusion: It is often cheaper to pay for bchic than to use GA4 “for free” and rent an expensive cookie tool in return. You save yourself the middle man.

Who owns the data?

Google thrives on collecting data about each individual. bchic sells software, not user data.

The choice is yours:
Do you want to keep trying to tame the GA4 monster? Do you want to spend money on banners that scare visitors away? Or do you want to get back to what web analytics should be: Simple, reliable and independent?

With bchic Analytics, the data belongs to you and you make your users user experience easier.
