Your cookie tool only shows half

Every company with a cookie banner lives with a blind spot. The consent rate in the DACH region is between 30 and 60 percent. This means that there is no behavioral data for at least half of all visitors. No sessions. No attribution. No funnel analysis. Not because the users weren't there. But because they clicked “Reject.”

It's not an edge case. That is the majority.

Cookie-based tools only record users who actively consent. Everything else falls away. No tracking, no data point, no existence in the system. And because this group was never visible, the entire industry has become accustomed to making decisions based on a distorted sample.

The problem isn't that cookie tools are bad. The problem is that they're structurally incomplete. And the stricter regulation gets, the bigger the gap gets.

Two worlds, one dashboard

bchic is cookieless and PII (Personally Identifiable Information) free. This means that we record 100 percent of visitors without dependency on consent. No cookies, no fingerprinting, no consent required. That was the architecture from day one.

But the reality is this: Most companies run a cookie-based tool in parallel. Google Analytics, Amplitude, Matomo And so far, there hasn't been a clean way to relate data from both worlds.

That is exactly what we are changing now.

CMP consent segmentation

bchic now recognizes whether a visitor has agreed to the cookie banner or not. With a simple callback from your consent management platform such as Cookiebot, Usercentrics, Consentmanager, no matter which provider, bchic sends a consent_granted Event as soon as a user agrees.

The result: Each visitor is assigned to one of two segments.

Consent user. Has agreed to the cookie banner. Collected by your cookie tool. It exists in both systems.

Cookie-free users. Rejected or never interacted. Invisible to your cookie tool. Completely visible to bchic.

And for the first time, you can compare both groups directly.

Why it's important

Attribution has always been incomplete. Not because the model was wrong, but because the database was missing. If 50 percent of your visitors never show up in the system, every conversion rate is distorted, every funnel incomplete, every campaign evaluation incomplete.

With consent segmentation, you can measure what you're missing out on for the first time. You can see how the behavior of consent users and cookie-free users differs. You can see if your cookie tool shows the same patterns as bchic. You can see where attribution breaks.

And you can finally answer a question that no one has been able to answer before: How representative is the data on which you make your decisions?

Not a workaround. architecture.

Other tools are trying to fill the consent gap with modeling. Google calls it Consent Mode, and it works through statistical extrapolations. That means: You get estimated figures based on the users who have agreed. Modeled conversions. Extrapolated sessions.

It's better than nothing. But it remains an approximation. The actual cookie-free users are never observed, only simulated.

bchic goes the other way. No modeling. Real data. For every single visitor. Consent segmentation is not an estimation — it is a deterministic allocation based on a real event.

Set up in 3 minutes

Integration is deliberately kept simple. You add a callback to your CMP configuration, which sends an event to bchic when you consent. It's done. No additional tag manager, no custom code, no complex configuration.

From that moment on, bchic automatically segments. In every report, every filter, every analysis.

Make the delta visible

The most exciting question you can ask yourself: How big is the delta between what your cookie tool sees and what actually happens?

If the answer is: hardly any difference, then you know that your previous decisions were based on solid foundations. If the answer is massive, then you now know why campaigns didn't perform, why funnels didn't convert, why the numbers were never right.

Both answers are valuable. One provides security. The other provides clarity.

Cookie tools show you half of that.

bchic shows you everything.

And now you can measure the difference.
